My 3 Mini Pins started on Nexguard April 18, second dose, May 23. I saw the expected problems at first, by the second dose, middle one was vomiting, skin terrible shape, skin thickened, ear infection, lost 4 #. started her on benadryl, powder, etc. Called the company, they weren't at all surpriser, assigned case number to each dog, complete history--said the really dint know how long it lasted in system, agreed to refund money. Finally got her into the vet--oh no, no problems with nexguard! I told him he needed to research on the internet. By now, she has active yeast infection on skin, ears etc. The worse effects came one day after second dose--vomited 5 times that day. I have raised and had dogs over 70 years--I'm not a dummy-and I know MY dogs. So, watch close if you use this product

I have gone round and round with our vets over this same type of stuff. They insist that there are "no side effects" or "minimal side effects" to everything. If there is a bad reaction to something, they can't admit that it was the drugs fault - it must have been administered incorrectly. Our vets here are so deep in the pharma pockets it is ridiculous. When I told one of the vets (who we no longer see) that I was working to control fleas naturally since our entire family has skin irritation issues, she ROLLED HER EYES AT ME. I still can't believe it.

When I moved to Denmark I went to see the vet about worms (prevention) and they said. go away, come back when you find signs of worms, then we'll treat. the same with fleas, they don't believe in treating until there is a problem. (rabies vac is mandatory and other vac's are avaliable, it's not all hands off!) I have two "free range" dogs on a raw straight from the abatoir diet, and neither have caught worms in the last two years. seems this way works. I have had to treat for fleas twice. once each summer.
