I just shared this recipe up on the canning thread ..but I thought I would share it here too... I hope you try it and enjoy it.. bopeep
Blackberry Cobbler 2 cups self-rising flour 2 cups sugar 2 sticks butter (melted) 2 cups milk (or use the juice and milk to equal 2 cups) 2 cups berries (sweetened)
Mix flour, sugar, butter and milk, pour into 9x13 inch baking dish, then put the berries evenly on top. Bake at 350 degrees until golden brown ... This recipe is good with blue berries, peaches, pineapple most any fruit ..and of course you can half this recipe..it is good, easy and quick ....

This is the same as my mom's peach cobbler recipe, except she just used regular flour. And when she told it to me, she forgot to tell me about the butter. I'd been making it without the butter for a long time before I heard that part, so I never started adding it.

Thanks, Bopeep! Our oven door does not have a window and I don't like to open it to check too many times. Messes up the timing to write down for next time.

The Camp Cook used to say, "If it smells done, it's done. If it doesn't smell done, it's not done, and if it smells burnt, it's burnt."
