We're having nice weather, so I popped the lid on my sole remaining hive today. Within the last two weeks, they have expanded from four frames of brood to ten. It's amazing.
If they continue to expand at this clip, I may have to make a split soon...

I've been around bee hives all my life and I'm still a little surprised at how fast they can expand the brood nest or fill a super at the right time of year.
They still fascinate me after all these years.

How many hives do you have, smokey?
I grew up with my grandfather beekeeping (he was a hobbyist). Missed the bees for twenty years after he could no longer do it, and last year finally took the plunge and ordered a package.
Then, I realized just how much I had missed them.

@forest, I have 9 hives right now. Between swarm season and splits I've planned this spring I'm going to add some. I'm retiring in a couple of years and I want to have a big enough bee yard for a lot more honey and Nuc sales.

I have 3 top bar hives and our good weather and fruit tree flow has one of mine Full already too! I have Carniolans and those girls are Always Fast! It's raining again and I'll have to split into a nuc and get going on hive 4 ASAP. Looks like a very good year starting up where I live too.
