I am a very new soap maker, & I really want to try my hand at shampoo bars. Could anyone recommend any books?

Most of my soapmaking books are on loan right now, but I think "The Natural Soap Book' By Susan Miller Cavitch had some nice shampoo bars in it. You can also find some recipe's for shampoo bars online. Making a shampoo bar is the same as making other soaps, you're just using ingredients that are more helpful for your hair. Different hair types and your home water chemistry will also affect how a shampoo works in your hair, so it might take some trial and error to find what works for you.
Most shampoo bars will contain Castor Oil and Jojoba oil. Certain oils or ingredients are good for certain types of hair. Since my daughter and I both had blonde hair, I usually use Chamomile in mine which is said to be good for blonde or gray hair. I don't remember the ingredients for other types or colors of hair. My favorite scent for my shampoo bar is Rosemary Mint, but I also like lemongrass and that is what my son loves.
Also, you might want to check with your local library for soapmaking books. Most libraries are also part of the loaning program and can get books in for you.
