Thanks to all of you that have given me help, advice and encouragement over the last couple of months. Here's my little herd -- 18 month does on the left - Eleanor (brown) and Katherine (spotted) & in the center, our new buck Solomon and our silly bottle baby wether (Winston) in a hay bucket. And of course, the required chicken or two have to photobomb.

Ha! I have a goat named after me! They are beautiful! You only have 4,though? What's up with that? She named her goat Redfish???!

People with Lamanchas think it is funny to name them after me, because I'm not crazy about that breed. LOL Of course, there are a lot of goats named Ivy, and Pony, but the people tell me that they intentionally named them for me. LOL

@pony, you don't favor lamanchas??!!! Whatever is wrong with you? You probably like those long eared, roman nosed beasties, yes? I just haven't met that many goats named Katherine, or Redfish, come to think of it. I have a doe with very similar coloring, but she's a lamancha. Shhhh!
Ha! Yes, I love and have a herd of NUBIANS! <3 We recently acquired a gorgeous Saanen buck so that we can have a herd of SNUBIANS! I do love those, too. A little hardier (though my Nubians are "classic": sturdy and strong), a bit more milk. Always regretted selling off the two Snubes I had a few years back, so I am quite pleased 'specially since this buck is a known doe-thrower.

Thanks all. To be honest, most people are drawn to Katherine who is our herd queen. I guess spotted is more interesting to most. Our favorite coloring is Eleanor's brown and black, but we love them both like crazy people. Eleanor is our more curious gal - Katherine is the queen of all she can see, just ask her, she'll tell you. So far, Solomon is sweet but he's yet to hit his first rut. What can you say about bottle baby wethers - they're just too cute.
Thanks all!

Beautiful! Your Katherine looks just like my Lily who is the herd queen also. Love the dark ears on a Nubian!

Spots are nice and all, but give me a brown/red goat with some black, or else a black goat with a white belt and white ears.

I also seem to be drawn to spots too but somehow I ended up with a whole bunch of different color patterns. When people come to buy I have noticed most like flashy, the flashier the better! The first thing I look at is the teets and udder if there is one, then if the 100 pound goat tries to crawl in my lap, which might be why people are so amazed at how friendly my goats are... Your goats are lovely and well rounded hehehe
