Tonight I literally pulled a bot worm from my year old kitty. About a week ago she must have gotten into a fight and she did get a cut. I treated it with antibiotic ointment after cleaning it and noticed it had still gotten infected. After cleaning it out again tonight I noticed what I thought was just "pus" but, also noticed it looked like it was moving and had an eye ?? I put vaseline on it...and waited and then washed it again and got an old pair of tweezers and pulled about a 1/4 inch ugly worm out of poor kitty's neck. UGH !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I then took a q-tip and cleaned it out again and then took strips of gauze with antibiotic ointment and packed it into the open hole. And then..gave her a shot of penicillin. So I hope I have done the right thing...Can not believe that this worm thing was in my poor kitty. Anymore advice for us..??

No advice, bots are pretty gross. Sounds like you did everything right.

We had one last year with a bot in his NOSTRIL! OMG, so revolting. The good news is that they usually heal up clean and fast once you get the grub outta there.

well..I am so paranoid on any bump I now find on any of my animals !!! Kitty seems to be doing well but, daily I clean the "hole" in the side of her head and continue to pack with a small piece of gauze and antibiotic ointment and betadine.Have a few penicillin capsules left over from previous illnesses and use a small amount of the medication onto her food. I want it to heal from the inside out so hopefully, I can keep the gauze in the opening for a few more days.
