...was on the other side. Click-bait titles are fun... I'm gonna name him 'Dice'. Or 'Domino'. I like 'Dice' better because dicing is something done to food. And food he will become. His momma is a 'forever' cow. I've vowed to keep her around.

Awesome! What a cutie. Momma looks like a very stout girl. We have one in the Holstein herd that I milk with a white face, black ring around one eye -- I call her Panda.

She has a very nice frame. Her dam is a purebred belted Galloway. I sold her a few years ago. This was the last calf she gave me, sired to a Angus. I always thought the galloways had skinny britches. The cow above kept the belt but took on the nice fleshy beefy butt from her dad.
Every last one of my galloways were susceptible to pink eye. I kept the one above because when she was a calf, she had swollen shut eyes. During a pasture move, she lagged her mom and I tried to force her up rather than bring the cow back. She ran into a wicked briar and gouged one eye out. I promised her I would keep her around due to my negligence. Even with one eye, she is an excellent cow. I haven't and won't keep any of her stock. The pinkeye thing was way too prominent in that bunch.

That's a shame about the pinkeye. Looking at her again, she has an Angus head, doesn't she? My Holstein/Angus cross, Lil, has an Angus face.
