Every year at this time my wife says I'm not a Good Person. I'm trying to get things lined out for Deer Season and always seems like nothing is going right.
So far I was hoping to have our Cabin ready to stay in. Still have about a weeks worth of work to do on it. Only able to work a day or two a week.
My Health has been going Bad, I'm having a lot of trouble walking. Not good for me to take Pain Medication and drive much less hunt.
Trying to down load Maps on to my Old GPS off my Old Computer. Not wanting to work, have no idea why. Really like it finding where I need to be early in the mornings in the dark.
This evening decided to go ahead and sight my 30-30 in for 100 yards and my 45Cal. Muzzleloader with my heavier Bullets I got for it. Got to the range there was several there. I got the .45Cal. Sighted in. Was using the 30-30 was having trouble adjusting the Scope, looked there was a piece broke on it. Pulled the Scope off, wasn't having much luck sighting it in at 50 yards, got it 2 inches off at 50 yards. Gave up.
Have seen more Deer this year than last year and heard people are killing Hogs where I'm wanting to go so I have to look on the bright side.

I've had trouble a couple of times sighting in my scope too. I usually take a couple shots to see where its hitting then try to walk it back to bulls eye. I don't like to do it, but when I can't get it sighted in like that, I'll take a good steady shot, then before the second shot hold on the bulls eye again then just turn the dials until I get the X on where the shot hit. Almost all the time this works, but it not good for the adjustment dial's to do it that way many times. You can get them so far away from center that they may just not work so well after awhile. But for a quick fix on a scope that ain't that far off to begin with I go to it if I'm in a hurry or running low on ammo.

The Rifle that had the Scope I broke was sighted for 50 yards I wanted to change to 100 yards. The other Rifle I was just changing to a Heavier Bullet.

DW tells me every week at this time that I am not a Good Person. I really can't say anything in my own defense.
I need to invite you up here. Deer and turkey everywhere. You could run out and club one if need be.

Well managed to get Maps down loaded to my GPS using my New Computer. Cabin, maybe couple more days, like to get a Bed once it is done, I think I can build a frame, got a mattress, figure this will work.
Yes things are working out.

Beat way to sight in a scope, jerry-rig up or buy a gun vise. Clamp the gun into it and fire, now tighten the clamps again. Fire at a Target set out 50 or 100 yards (or however far you are wanting) notice where the bullet hit, and adjust your scope so that the crosshairs are lined up on your bullet hole.

That is the way I do it.
The Scope I had trouble with broke, pieces on ground, broke off scope. I have no idea how but unrepairable even with Super Glue. Not Good.
