I'm getting started on redoing our Halloween decorations. For the past few years I've said I wasn't putting those styrofoam tombstones out, but every year I did. And every year I ended up chasing them down the street because we always get some type of storm with high winds the day after I get everything set up. Last night my husband saw another one that he really wanted to get, it was pretty simple with an owl sitting on it. I told him absolutely not unless he was going to be the one chasing them. So I decided this year I'm making my own out of wood with metal poles attached on the back to hold them down. I started with this one for him so he doesn't pout too long about the store bought one. lol It's simply a piece of scrap wood that I traced the design on, cut with a jigsaw and painted. It has several layers of paint, a satin finish one as a base coat and then the spray paint that's supposed to look like stone over that. The owl is white vinyl that I cut with my silhouette machine. Our haunted graveyard is going to look so much better this year...
