Ribs

In my 47 years I have only cooked ribs twice; once about 2 months ago and just tonight. I had to do this in the oven as we don't have a grill, but they turned out fairly good.
We got these ribs free from a neighbor. Her husband, a rib lover, died about 3 months ago and she cleaned out the freezer. She gave us about $40-50 worth of ribs. I took one unopened pack over to in-laws and we had a barbecue where they did them on the grill. Yum. But there were about 3 slabs of ribs in the pack. They re-wrapped the other two in one huge chunk together and sent them back with my husband who put them in the outside freezer.
This past week I thawed them in the fridge again and cooked both slabs in the oven because I didn't want to re-freeze them again raw. After I cooked them, I packaged the leftovers in meal-sized portions and froze those.
Was this right? Will the cooked ribs re-heat OK? I know nothing about ribs other than they probably oughtn't to have been refrozen in the first place, so I just cooked them all at once.

When there's a power failure and a lot of meat is thawing in the freezer, best thing to do is either cook or can it. Think of your local supermarket. There are lots of pre-cooked frozen meat products. No different if you cook it and freeze it or someone else does. If we see some ridiculously low price for a big slab of ribs, can't resist but there's just two of us. After two days of getting through half of them, they disappear only to show up a month later to again be enjoyed.
