For Thanksgiving, I'm going to urge you to make stuffing bread. It's a loaf bread like any other you make, but it has some additions. When you mix your usual favorite two loaf bread recipe up, add some finely chopped garlic (or dried, if you prefer), a couple of teaspoons of rubbed sage, a half teaspoon or so of rosemary, a half teaspoon or more of onion powder, and of course plenty of my favorite, a good aromatic thyme. I like about a tablespoon in there, but you can adjust to your own taste. Bake your bread a day or two before The Big Day. Cool, slice, and cube one of the loaves for stuffing. Cool and slice the other loaf for leftover turkey sandwiches. It's like having stuffing again, but in your sandwich. So. GOOD. I can put up a more detailed recipe if anybody wants; but I have the feeling that the experienced bread makers can take it from here. You'll thank me for this.

Sounds yummy! But one of my fav things for after the holidays is making the sandwich with a patty of slightly gooey just slightly pan fried stuffing on it too. I wonder if you could take your bread recipe and let it go stale to make cubes for stuffing? Sorta backwards from your recipe, but builds the spices in better maybe.

When I make the stuffing bread, I pull it from the oven the Tuesday before Turkey Day and let it cool. I take one of the loaves, slice it and cube it, and put the cubes in the Excalibur. Soon I have lovely little crunchy toasty dried bread cubes, and the house smells absolutely awesome. These end up inside the bird on Thursday.
The other loaf in the recipe is for sandwiches. Sorry I wasn't more clear. I can totally see the value of pan fried stuffing in the sandwich! Mmmmm!

I just didn't read it straight the first time!! That definitely sounds yummy. I might actually try to make bread so I can try this sometime. I am not doing the stuffing this year, so maybe next
