New to this forum... didn't see any boards on cheesemaking. Should I post them here? I make cheese with raw goat milk.

Not really sure, I wouldn't have known other than looking through the threads list, it caught my eye. Wouldn't have thought soap forum for cheese, food maybe. We too make cheese from raw goats milk, usually just soft cheese using lemon juice or vinegar, depending on if mixing fruit or herbs. We also make cottage cheese....James

I make cheese from raw goat milk too. I don't have a cheese cave yet but am building one when we move! I'm super excited about it! We totally need a cheese/dairy board!

I just made some chevre yesterday. Last year, I made the worst cheddar EVER - so I'm a little reluctant to try again. I know that alice makes some incredible cheeses. @stef, too.

I've made the soft cheese with vinegar and a yogurt cheese (labneh? I think?) I'm totally new to it so trying to ease in slowly. Mozzarella and ricotta are next on my list.

Phooey! We have been feeding all of our kids and selling the remaining excess up to this point. Our cow freshened last week, so we finally were able to make our first batch of chèvre. It is on the counter ripening right now, I can't wait.
We usually make hard cheeses from cows milk, but I want to try some with goats milk. We just sold our first buckling on CL today, so the milk should start to accumulate. Can't wait for the chèvre tomorrow!
