Got a great deal on a pork roast with a bone. We've deboned it and have it cut up into portions and froze. Now how to use the bone? I've cooked soup beans with pork (not ham)before and can't say that I like the taste. Any ideas? Maybe a different type of bean dish?? TIA for any ideas

Roast it first then use it to make stock, keep in the freezer untill you need some pork stock, or make your dog/cat/chickens very happy.

Stock: cut the bone to expose the marrow. Simmer, don't boil. The trinity; Onion, Celery, Carrot. Spice with Black Peppercorn, Bay Leaf, and Rosemary. Skim the froth. Allow to cool and remove the fat. Warm and filter, paper towel pre and a coffee filter. Reduction and Consomme is another thread.
Iffin you're gonna give it to the dogs, give it raw or lightly smoked. A bone too brittle, or too soft, could be an issue.

Thanks. Ok stock. What dishes call for pork stock? I've made beef and chicken stock but can't say I've ever used pork. I'm open tho.
I'm looking Not to give it to my dogs as many dogs have been found to have pork allergies. My old JRT was sensitive to it and I'm trying to keep my current kids away from it. I'll give it to my hens tho.

If you're doing any kind of slow cooked pork in a stock pot replace any water with the stock, or for casseroles with pork, you can also use it in place of chicken stock. or you could just make a piggy soup.

I always mix my bones for stock. I think chicken, pork and beef go well together, better than any of them alone.
You don’t have to make soup with it. You can use the broth for cooking rice.
