I have a large handful of various silverplate spoons, soup, tea, and table spoons, of various designs. I have no intention of using them daily or on special occasions. What do people do with silverplate utensils, or in this case spoons? I don't think I want to keep them. Are there some people that collect them or do they just get thrown out?

I use my odd ones. My uncle used to flatten them out and make wind chimes from them. I have used some when potting up small plants.

there are people that like them and use them daily the silver does not let bacteria grow on them, so it is safer to use than standard utensils I and others collect and use it,
I am sure you will have no issues finding someone that will love to have them.

I love them. We got a silver service for our wedding and I inherited a lot of silver cutlery from my grandmother, via my late father. Use them as our every-day cutlery. I particularly love my grandmother's as, aside from the sentimental value, the spoons and forks etc are all a good, substantial size. I used to be of the mind that this is only for 'fancy' occasions, but in my grandmother's era it was used all the time, as well as the fancy china.
I've seen those wind chimes made out of cutlery - they're great.

I use my silver flatware daily. Yes, I also have a "good" set for special occasions.
DO not throw them out - if you don't want them, put an ad on Craigslist or give them to a thrift store.
Many Crafters use them to make rings, other jewelry or craft items.

I've seen jewelry (bracelets, rings & earrings) made with them. Several of my customers have clocks made with them. Pinterest for some ideas???

I do appreciate all the ideas. Sadly, I have many half-done projects and don't want to start another. If I go and clean them up (take the tarnish off), take pictures and list them on craigslist (and here if anyone is interested), how would I price them (plus shipping) for the bunch? I also found a silverplate tray (medium size) the other night during my sorting. (I'm not a pintarester, twitster, or instagrammer.) I guess I'll clean them up and take a few pictures. Thank you for the suggestions!
