Try vinegar on a cloth on the spot. If that doesn't do it, there is a product called Whink that works well and shouldn't damage the finish.

Sprayed white vinegar on rust. Rust started breaking up right away. Yea WM had Wink $5 for a big bottle. Didn't need that much; sure didn't want to pay $5.

That's better than the price I had to pay for Whink last time. Our WMs don't carry it anymore. I use it a lot, but I have iron water. Glad to hear the vinegar worked for you.

Read to make paste of cream of tarter and hp. Will try that on back of toilets.

sss3, hp = hydrogen peroxide? Have you tried it yet? If so, how did it work? I'm always looking for good rust removers.

We had some at the museum where I volunteer and a friend tried one of those Mr Clean erasers and it worked!
