I'm debating what to do this year. I'm not ordering anything until the credit card is paid off. If that is real soon then we can catch the clearance sale on Tractor Supply chicks. If I order from a hatchery I'm considering Jersey Giants, ducklings, and geese.

Hi everyone, I order all my birds from one place (don't want to mix different suppliers, just incase of any issues) anyhoo from Cackle Hatchery in Missouri, they are all pullets and nope I don't sell eggs, I sell the pullet starting at age 4 months before they start to lay, yes I have many still around as alot of people want them when they have started laying, So I have many many dozens of eggs before they really start selling good.....I have a great market for young pullets here in Kentucky and I sell out every year.... What do I do with the eggs, give away and we have 150 Katahdin ewes so I have 7 LGD's and they LOVE hard boiled eggs I raise them in three different rooms/buildings.....they start out in what I call the brooder room, pen built by my DH, up off of ground and all the way around the room 12 X 12, well three walls that is! kinda like a horse shoe shape, many outlets for heat lamps.... Once they get big enough to jump/fly out of this pen I move them to what I call stage two room, 10 X 14 and (all of my rooms have concrete floors) I bed the floor down with pine shavings OR straw and this room has a big A frame roost post. When they out grow this room they are moved into the final stage room which is 70 X 20, again DH and I built this room and its is nice and again concrete floor, this room has the roost post and the nest boxes and this is the room they will be sold out of I take really good care of and raise them with everything they need and keep my coops CLEAN, no ammonia smell in my coops, ALL three rooms the girls are raised with radio's....LOL spoiled a little....
