CK3, I'm so sorry you lost her. From what I can tell, there are some kids that are just not meant for long lives, even under the best emergency care. I think what you did was great and you tried - she could have died a miserable death being trampled and cold. You gave her a chance and when that didn't work, she died warm and cared for -- not a bad way for her to pass. Your efforts were not in vain, even if you didn't get the outcome you were working for. Well done you.

Aw, I'm sorry you lost the little one. You surely did all you could do, don't beat yourself up. Hope the other two little ones do really well for you:-)

A LOT can happen in 5 hours or less....
Went off to pick up the rest of the hay bales that I'd bought at auction yesterday (had so many that I had to make a 2nd trip)
and then went to visit with a couple friends, did some grocery shopping and got home before it got dark, but unfortunately,
found Molly's other girl stretched out full length in the snow and rigor already setting in. I have no idea what happened...
although one of the larger goats could have hit her pretty good and perhaps caused internal injuries. I'm also concerned that
perhaps because BOTH kids had been sharing the one good teat, that maybe she didn't get enough to eat, but since she was the
bigger of the 3, didn't think that was possible. A bit worried about letting the boy stay inside the barn with Molly tonight,
but he seems to be fed alright and was quite active in trying to catch him, so ....? She was the prettiest of the bunch and I
had such high hopes for her too. I just can't seem to get this goat raising thing down yet....

Some years are like that. Just can't win. We've lost 3 lambs this year when usually we loose at the most 1. It can be very disheartening.
