The buyer who was going to purchase 100 birds bought 110 birds because that is all the money he had in his pocket or he would of bought more, he loved them......
So I started with 650 chicks plus the extras so right at 675 chicks, I have had TWO bigger buyers thus far one took (80) birds and this last guy took (110), I am now down to 75 birds left, all other sales have been quantities anywhere between 6-20 at a time. will be nice to be done and sold out soon as the lambing season is in full swing and I need the extra time I spend with chicken chores and sales to spend with the sheep!

SOLD OUT...........3/21/17 I sold the last 10 chickens..... so it took a total of about 7 weeks to sell all birds, not bad for the numbers I had....

Sooooooooooooo I placed my new order today for my fall chicks to come in...... EE's are a smaller breed and tend to get picked on some......so I ordered them to come in 2 months earlier then the other breeds so they have some growth on them and maybe this will help the picking on issue? Chicks and schedule 50 EE's for a July delivery -------------------------------------- 25 RIR for a Sept delivery 25 Silver laced Wyandotte 50 Buff Orpington 50 RIW Rhode Island White 50 Black Australorp 100 Barred Rocks 300 Golden Comets 650 total birds...........................................................................

Congrats on your sales!!! But.... That is a longggg time to not have any chicks around. You live in a nice area for selling birds. Most of the time here, can barely give Roosters away, big or small... and lucky to get $12.00 for a pullet.

shellymay, what hatchery did you use? I prefer bantams but in the past had the full size as wel, it got too much delivering eggs.... The bantams we had were not as destructive, and I prefer their eggs..

I use Cackle Hatchery out of MO, have been for many years and I have been very happy with them......
Update, chicken sales are flying out the door, As of the first of Feb I have sold 351 birds already, yippy...... 150 of these went to a single customer, they have a egg selling business..... My big coop is starting to look empty....

shellymay, Thanks for updating us on the chicken sales. I was wondering how you were doing with them.

If I were ready for hens I would want some ! But I am getting back in chickens slowly by raising them . I have a tentative buyer for my place and thought I could move bantams easier, at least it would be less room. I too have used Cackle for years until this last batch which came from Texas.
But my tentative goal is to raise purebreds .
