I used to work for them years ago when Bill and I lived in Washington, D.C. They closed the one store here in this area several years ago. There may still be one across the river in Kansas. Guess I will have to look ..........not that I need any more fabric!!

Sad to see this. I think that fabric is so expensive now, and not enough people sew, so it was bound to happen. I'll have to go see what they have..Notions like elastic, zippers, etc will be harder to find now!

I loved shopping at Hancock until they closed the local store. Bought my sewing machine from them. I did get a lot of fabric on sale when they went out of business. I bought one yard of fabric at a quilt shop on Tuesday -- $12.18 with tax. Wish I was close enough to a Hancock to take advantage of the sale. Sad that they are closing.

Our local Hancock store quit accepting all coupons and their largest discount is 20%. I'm disappointed.

fabric now seems to cost way more than just buying completed clothing, Hancock, or at least the ones I went to quit having quality fabric about 10 years ago, so what happens when your prices are high and your quality is low ? no idea how it happened like that, could be they had no choice in the matter, but either way I am kind of amazed they lasted this long
