To shorten story considerably, I somehow got to thinking about six cylinder engines that had a vacuum advance distributor that has shaft that turns counterclockwise. Most turn clockwise. Distributors without a vacuum advance dont count. There were several V8s, but darn few six cylinder that did this.
I thought of one immediately though I had to check and make sure it was ever offered with a vacuum advance, it did though only for year or two in early 80s, and two more engines after some pondering, one from 70s and one from 50s/60s. Might be more. I didnt try to delve into the early days of automotive history and hunt down pics of the many now defunct independents. YOu can tell by way by which side of distributor, that the vacuum advance is located. Vacuum advance always has to pull opposite direction that the rotor is turning. Otherwise it would be a vacuum retard....

Oops I did it again, thought of another 50s/60s engine. So up to four now.

Alright no guesses. So one a day until the four I came up with are posted. First is the Ford 232 V6 (3.8L). At least 1982 version had vacuum advance. I didnt check farther than that to see if that was the only year.

Second is the Datsun (Nissan) 240Z straight six, originally 2.4L though it grew in size as did the numerical name of the car.

Third is the Studebaker 170 straight six.

Fourth and final one I came up with is the old Willys 226 straight six. Maybe other old flat head sixes with distributor shaft going counter clockwise, but too much water under the bridge for me to remember them clearly.
