Anyone have recipe for eggless angel food cake? Found some, would prefer TNT one. Is there a dif between sponge cake and angel food cake? Always thought they were same thing. Saw pics of sponge cake; didn't think it looked like angel food cake.

I can't imagine an eggless angel food cake. It has like ten whites in it; I can't for the life of me figure anything that would give similar texture as beaten egg white.
A sponge cake differs from an angel food cake in that it has yolks and fewer total number of eggs; but the rise and lightness comes from eggs separated and whites beaten high and fluffy, then folded into the rest of the ingredients.

A british sponge cake (victoria sponge style) doesn't have beaten eggs, so any egg replacement should work in it. (creaming sugar and butter then mixing in eggs and flour)

chefinyou says any recipe calling for more than 3 eggs, no substitution should be used. Best to bake something else. I'll just use the $1.99 angel food cake mix I got from Aldi's.
