I had some many years ago that were glass; yet cannot recall the brand and have not been able to find any here. The microwave dishes I've found here are terrible in that they scratch easily and stain easily. I sure would like to know what type of dishes others use and why they like them to cook with. Care to share?

I've often wondered just how lead crystal would do?
Anyone know whether there would be a chance of 'arcing'?

I second Corningware, also Pryrex and vintage Pyrex, especially all size casserole dishes and refrigerator dishes with the flat glass lids.

If you try a glass dish and it is very hot to the touch when you go to remove it, that is not a good choice for a microwave. Corningware is available around here at every yard sale and flea market. Of course, we are an hour and change from Corning

I've often wondered just how lead crystal would do? Anyone know whether there would be a chance of 'arcing'? It says in the Miele microwave manual not to use lead crystal (along with aluminum foil etc).
