I've been there and still go there when I can.. But you must understand that the quality of some of the items are questionable.. Some items work fine and as intended, others you may get burnt on.. I have a 4x8 2200 lbs GWV trailer that I bought before the stores existed and I'm still using it today. We also have one of their aluminum framed 8x10? green houses that works well, but you have to make or find/buy extra clips to hold the panels in.. I also have numerous tools that I don't use on a daily basis from there.. So far it has been well worth it in the long run for me..

Buy their pro series hand tools and they have a lifetime warranty no question asked replacement. Also their gas engines and electric tools are good. I stay away from most their battery powered tools , and consumables like zip ties, grinding wheels and whatnot.

I am selective with harbor freight. Made the mistake of buying a 4 1/2 grinder. I am now on my third one. This one might hold up okay.

I am selective with harbor freight. Made the mistake of buying a 4 1/2 grinder. I am now on my third one. This one might hold up okay. I have one of the 4 1/2" angle grinders, I believe it is a Chicago Electric (orange and silver) that I use hard.. I've never had a problem with it.. Then there is the 18volt cordless drill & flashlight that has never been right.. The battery never took a charge and the tools have never seen work.. But till I realized it the warranty had expired. I had gotten it and didn't open it for over a year. It actually got misplaced... It's like my 10" compound miter saw. I used it once and lent it either to my brother or father and havent' seen it since. They may have returned it, but if they did, I don't know where it could have gotten to.. The worse part is now I need it...

I have one of those grinders that I've lightly used. So far, so good. I also have a couple of their small engines. They are Honda clones, and are good.

Dont buy the drillmaster stuff, you will be wasting your money guaranteed. The Chicago Electric is ok. They used to have some high end line electric power tools, nice but it cost as much as name brand stuff and people dont go to HF to buy higher priced stuff, so think they discontinued it.
Also pay attention to amps its rated. One of those low amp angle grinders is kinda pointless.

they do very well with some tools, and not so good on others, I still have many from when most of what they had was good
I still think the store is at least 80 % good things the plug in the wall things and things that need to be properly tempered are likely the lowest quality at the moment
I have a fantastic air impact wrench from them, it is polished aluminum, anyone else remember when they had polished aluminum air tools ?

Wrenches for most part are not meant for heavy use. It is dangerous to put pressure on one and have it to snap in your hand. It has been so long since I bought from there I do not know what it was. I did watch my boss use their tools. I did some price checking showed him the results . He could buy higher priced tools cheaper that would last . That was when the tool snapped in his hand. He was very pleased with the new tools and the quickness of the exchange locally if need be.
