Whatever caused climate change, only a complete idiot would ignore melted glaciers and such around the world. Even if you believe its just natural cyclical change that happens every millennium or so, you still have to deal with its effects when its obvious it is happening.
Meaning you are going to get severe coastal flooding. Not insignificant for an island nation. All those glaciers and polar glacial ice sheets melt, and water has to go someplace. Your constituents are not going to be happy needing to live on second story of their houses and commute in a boat.
Also pretty obvious we are getting more frequent and extreme severe weather. Good chance the best agricultural areas will move northward.

I've always wanted to paddle one of those gondolas like they have in Venice. Maybe I'll go north and open up shop on the lower side of NYC.
I don't know, its confusing...maybe a move to Terlingua would be better.

I don't know, its confusing...maybe a move to Terlingua would be better. Those are very well built stone buildings in Venice. Wood doesnt hold up that well under water for long periods. Not to mention how you get to the utility interfaces. Electrical boxes also dont do that well under water. If no level of govt is paying attention, then probably best to sell that "prime beachfront property" while the market for it is there, and head for the hills. Harder to sell when it or you are under water.

Well, eliminating the hot air spouted by a bureaucracy should eliminate some green house gases.

It is pure fantasy to think we can simultaneously remedy the future. It is not people per se that cause climate change, it is the metastatic growth of people that causes climate change. And none of the climate change bureaucracies even acknowledge that.

Uh, last I heard people still have to be involved in creating more people.... unless you have a link showing a complete lab birthed baby from raw DNA with no other humans involved???? And you are really suggesting since we cant 100% control traffic, we shouldnt even try??? Same rationale with environment. Yea there are still EPA toxic sites, but at least there are toxic sites listed on record, not just ignored as necessary byproduct of prosperous economy. I remember in 60s or maybe 70s, a river on fire. It was so polluted with chemical garbage, it was flammable.... Maybe water pollution isnt 100% taken care of, but we dont see rivers on fire anymore. And I dont think it was some private corporation that changed that on their own. They had to be forced. Now they moved off shore so you need to go after them there. Green pieces of paper seem more important than clean water/air, and pure food. Hey we had the money to overpopulate and change the atmosphere. I think there is money to not do those things!

Well, eliminating the hot air spouted by a bureaucracy should eliminate some green house gases. But does that lack of political hot air cause the water that will flood the coasts to suddenly reverse and form back into polar ice and glaciers??? I think at this point even if all humans suddenly disappeared off the planet and all industrial processes, pollution, and green house gas production stopped, things arent going to suddenly reverse. It just doesnt work that way. So politicians need to start planning for higher water along coastal areas and for more droughts in productive ag areas, and severe/frequent storm damage. Notice all these 1000 year floods that happen every other year now? To just ignore future events that are in sight and highly likely, and wait for the great flood to sweep you off to heaven is kinda silly. If everybody else has head in sand, a wise man probably move to high ground. Keeping a beach house and waiting for the big one means its not just politicians that are stupid and unresponsive to the changing environmnet... the owner of the house hasnt too many brains either. For govt to offer flood insurance to such fools means govt is a fool too.
