Well that just blows... just lost my best Hen. Think a hawk might of taken a pot shot at her today, before the horses could run it off. Backside feathers were pulled off and she was bloody. Found her dead in the horses mineral salts. This is her, when she got her first Adult feathers.

I am sorry - I hope it was quick for her. It's not easy when we care about our animals, instead of just taking care of them .

Hurts a lot, because they are extremely hard to find and spendy. Sigh ~~ Loosing her, pretty much dashed my breeding program.

Just sold the last 4.
Should have replacement chicks arriving the end of this month and will be starting over. Also put some eggs under my broody Maran hen... will see what happens.
