Hi guys. One of my favorite you tube vloggers posted a recipe for a taco style salad. She topped it with some bottled chipotle dressing I thought looked really good.
She got her dressing at Walmart. I saw it at Walmart today but didn't buy any. It looked kind of orangy-pink with specks of herbs or maybe chili peppers ( ? ).
Any idea on how to replicate it?

I wonder if it's "the legendary orange sauce" from La Victoria Taqueria - recently exposed in a great cookbook put out by Ten Speed Press in Berkeley, Tacolicious. It looks like it has cream but it's an oil emulsified sauce made in the blender like mayo. Here's a link: makeitlikeachef.com/2014/07/02/the-secret-to-tacolicious-legendary-orange-sauce/On Chow Hound there's a speculation that La Victoria uses Chorizo grease.

Sounds good, but maybe with a little more 'kick' than what I'm up to. (:

I would go with the ground chipotle peppers. The greek yogurt is going to tame down any pepper, so it won't be too hot. Chipotles aren't that bad anyway. The key to a good chipotle dressing is the smokey flavor (in my opinion). If you go to the Epicurious website, they have some really good recipes.
