So this one time happened that i found dead rabbit in his pen. Probably died early in the night, his body already cooled down. I was wondering at that time if i can still use him for meat, but i was sceptic since there had to be a cause for him dying. I must say, the rabbit was young, eating and drinking healthy so i dont know the cause of dying. So the question is, is found-dead rabbit still suitable for food?

They say you can eat anything if you cook it long enough, but I believe that is an old wives tale unless you care very little for the taste of it. Like Wally, I would shy away from this one.

IF you feel that you must salvage it and not let it go to waste and have a dog or two.....cook it up for them.

I might cook the rabbit as dog food. However, I am concerned that the rabbit might have died of snake bite, and the poison would harm my dogs. I have found a rattlesnake curled on top of my rabbit cages,in the barn.

How much will one trip to the hospital or vet cost? Seems like "Penny wise, pound foolish" applies here.

If the snake was found AFTER the rabbit was discovered deceased, than please amend my suggestion to what wildhorseluver is suggesting. I wasn't thinking of poisonous snakes being the possible cause. Better safe than forever sorry.

At the moment, no reply is of importance since the person asking the question hasn't returned to read the answers.
