Wonder if anybody is going to honor lifetime guarantee on Craftsman hand tools anymore? I have a little quarter inch drive ratchet that needs a kit, but its such a hassle to get to Sears, barely worth the trouble. I'd give them a couple bucks if they would just mail me a kit. Not exactly rocket science to install the kit.

I know the quality of the 2 newer sets has me discouraged about buying anymore Craftsman tools. The quality is poor..

Well, we can probably guess what's going to happen to the quality.

DH has talked about Black & Decker tools in the past... He's a professional contractor and this has been a long running joke between all of the contractors he deals with... If your tools are indeed Black & Decker - there is no need to pick them up at the end of the day at the job site due to the fact that no one will bother to steal them... Now as far as Craftsman - He's got a drill from the 80's that his dad gave him that he's used the heck out of it and just loves it!

Couldn't be reduced too much. Optimist.

Well, we can probably guess what's going to happen to the quality. The quality has already fallen, long before this sale of the company name. I have 2, 1/4 inch drives (ratchets) that didn't last more than 6 months. So I took them back and they gave a rebuild kits. I rebuilt them and they both failed. I eventually found a ratchet from the '70's that functions okay.. If the quality falls anymore they will lose their "brand" loyalty. I know I have already started to move away from their tools to other brands with better quality. Oh and on a side note; the company I work for uses Dewalt tools and they seem to hold up well on the Commercial Construction sites. But i don't have any real experience with Dewalt tools, since I'm in the office..
