Scientists just discovered a massive pool of carbon in central Africa that nobody knew was there.

Researchers estimated that immense wildfires in Indonesia largely caused by agricultural expansion and other human activities in the nation’s vast, peat-filled wetlands emitted about 1.5 billion tons of carbon dioxide equivalents into the atmosphere in 2015.

The US total carbon dioxide emission in 2014 was less than 7 billion tons.

The problem is that with ever increasing population growth these lands are essential to increased agricultural production unless one is willing to accept increasing hunger and starvation.

This is basically the problem, one can call it anything one likes, blame it on cars, cows, ufos whatever, but it comes back to population. And as with all natural systems it will balance out, and again as with all natural systems, the balancing act will require predation (unlikely) or starvation. I'm sure there will be lots of war as well maybe that counts as predation. All closed systems, and the Earth is one, will and must find balance, it'll be hell when we go over the top, but I seriously doubt there is anything we can do about it.

Most of the Dictators are educated and can negotiate contracts with foreign business interests that exploit the resources of any given country that allow the payments for extracted resources to bypass the people of the country and FLOW into the bank accounts of the Dictators .

They are or could be the financers of a second Panama type canal that may or may not come to actual dirt moving . China has NO morals when it comes to doing business with murdering strongmen who let their citizens occupy mud huts and suffer the consequences of their collective ignorance .
