I think I only have three UFO's to deal with. One is a crib quilt started 10 years ago that I really do not like so I may just toss it. Fabric choices were lame. A dress that needs hemmed. I love the dress but the fit is off so it may go into the donate bag without being hemmed or I might hem it and donate it to the clothing closet at the church. The third item is a fleece jacket that I found yesterday that I cut out years ago. All the pattern, fabric pieces and zipper are there so I added it to my sewing project list.
I have my red/white quilt to finish (squares all sewn, just need to finish putting together), a nightgown and robe already cutout and fabric for several walker bags that are planned projects or projects in the works not UFO's. I'm also working on altering (learning to alter) a blouse pattern and going to make a trial before cutting into good fabric.
Yesterday I moved things around in my sewing room and am embarrassed by the amount of fabric I have in my stash. A year ago I went to an fabric/craft auction and bought a LOT of fabric which almost doubled the size of my stash. I really really really need to sew everyday to even make a small dent in the stash. I have a large tote full of sewing scraps that I'm need to go through and either press and organize to use, donate or toss. There is no reason to keep non-cotton sewing scraps as I have no use for them. I also have a dresser full of fabric and supplies that I need to go through and do the organize, donate or toss. Its been several years since I've sewn clothing so I need to get things where I know where they are as I certainly do not want to buy something I don't need.
In January I started a sewing journal to keep track of what I make in 2017. It will be interesting to review it at the end of the year.

Sunday is my sewing day and I finished my second t-shirt quilt top. One is at the quilters now. I got back a small quilt from her on Friday and got all the binding & label done. I am going to give that to hubby for valentines day. I finished a small quilt top that I call chicken scraps...all scraps & a chicken in each corner. Need to work on backing and clean up sewing room. I try to clean up after each project.

Wow, you all sound really productive! I'm almost finished sewing down a quilt binding. I always drag my heels on that part for some reason. Then I'll mail it to my ddil. I've almost finished cutting all the pieces for a blue and white quilt top. It's a scrappy BOM that I'm making my stepson. Then I have another couple of days of cutting for another top.
These are part of the quilts I'm making my kids.

The last wedding quilt is ready to quilt. I simply do not have the time to get these 4 quilts quilted so next week I will be taking them up to the Missouri Star Quilt Company in Hamilton. They are a little over an hour away from me (@1 hr &15 min). I have points built up, about enough to pay for one and I messed up on a credit card and paid more than the balance (we always pay them off every month) so I have enough to pay for the other 3.
That leaves the wedding shawl to crochet. It is started but not in the right frame of mind for it, at the moment. So I am crocheting on several charity afghans I have started.
If any one has seen winter, send it my way!! For the last week we have been in the upper 60's, yesterday it was 74 and the same for today. It will continue, for at least, another week. My tulips are up, grape hyacinths are up, my mums are greening up underneath (actually they were doing that way back in Jan). Peach tree is starting to get buds! (no,no,no!!!). While I love the weather it is way, way too early!!
After I finish the wedding shawl I will pull some more UFO's out and list them. I seem to do better at finishing them if I am being held accountable!

I just got into sewing and have a whole list of projects I want to work on already. I've recently checked off a patchwork draft stopper, a patchwork tote bag, a fleece poncho for my niece (got it done before her birthday!), and a fleece hoodie for my dog (unfortunately a little tight). My next project is a dress for myself in a pretty blue fabric.

If you ever get chance go visit Mo Star Quilting Co. They have revamped and added more stores and changed things around since I was last there. One entire block is now full of stores, upstairs and down! Main store and 2 more stores, plus retreat store, are on the other side of the street and latest brochure shows spots for future stores. They even have a man cave for the guys to relax in while the wives shop. I finished another crocheted kids afghan this morning. Mon and Tue were very stressful days so no working on the wedding shawl just yet. Have 10 more rounds to do on a baby blanket but each round takes longer and toward the end each round takes about an hour. That is my Sunday project, I only work on it to and from church (90 plus min) or whenever Bill and I go someplace together and he drives. Found another adult crochet afghan I started so it is now out to work on. Have to crochet 7 hats first before I can finish it. Using navy blue yarn and the left over yarn from the skeins for the hats.

This past week I finished 2 crocheted cowls. I, also, finished 2 hats and 1 1/2 scarves, which gives me 5 sets of matching hat/scarf combo. Those will be set aside for the reservation later in the year. Got the yarn scraps to finish the navy blue afghan and I am 2/3 finished with another kids afghan.

Finished the UFO fleece jacket and really like it. I am going to shorten the sleeves tho. Also finished two walker bags and my nightgown. The robe is 2/3's done. The fabric turned out to be chenille not fleece (my bad) and has been a mess to work with. Lovely and soft, but had to zigzag every piece before sewing it due to fuzzing so badly. The bolt was in with the fleece fabrics at the shop so I assumed wrongly that it was fleece and didn't bother to read the label. I won't make that mistake again! I have another walker bag cut out.
I am still working on the muslin to correctly fit the blouse. I bought Nancy Zieman's book "Pattern Fitting with Confidence" and have been watching various how-to videos on U-Tube. My trouble is I understand how to make each change, but I need several and still haven't quite figured out how to make them all work together.
I bought a new dress pattern with princess seams to attempt to get a good fit. Its Simplicity 8047 and an "Amazing Fit" pattern so hopefully I'll be able to make it work. That is a project for later!

Well, 2017 is almost over. How have you done with finishing the 17 UFO's this year? I'm proud to say I've managed to complete all but two, but there's still a month to go. Of course, we won't talk about the other projects I started this year. LOL!

I finished all my projects then cut out a bunch more that will be awaiting free time in 2018. Well, I guess I still haven't put the last two rows onto the red/white quilt but they are pieced. No hurry as I don't have money to pay to have it long arm quilted.
So cutout projects include a dress, a kimono jacket, two blouses, quilted walker bag and living room curtains. I have fabric and pattern for a pair of lounge pants that I'd like to get cutout and sewn before I start on the other items except the curtains. The curtains have the side hems done so just need to do the headings and hems which hopefully will be done before Christmas. I have the blocks completed ready for assembling for a string quilt using fabric from my bin of sewing scraps. Once I get the blocks assembled I will decide whether or not I will attempt to quilt it on my sewing machine. Its not a big quilt so maybe I will be able to do it.

I more than surpassed my goal of 17. Already cutting out fabric and crocheting items for next year's charity giving.
I do want to make curtains for the window on the door we always use to enter the house. Been here almost 8 years and the curtain from when we moved in is still there. The door faces the west so during the summer the curtain is kept closed. I made a curtain for a small window next to the front door (faces south) and I have enough fabric left to make a curtain for the west door.
I need to make 2 quilted bags (one for me, one for a gift). I want to make a quilted cover for the kitchen aid mixer. I want to make a quilted bag for my 3ft tri-loom for traveling.
So that's 5 items ( at the moment) and everything else is for charity.
