So I got a great deal on pork roast at .99/lb and I picked up 10#. I have cut these up into roughly 1.5-2# pieces. I am far from an imaginative cook so I could use some ideas. I have the basics down with potatoes and carrots, pork and sour kraut and BBQ pork ideas. What else? I would really appreciate if you creative minds could help me with some meal ideas. Thanks!!

Cut some into pork chops, dredge in flour seasoned with pepper and garlic and fry up crisp.. Open a can of hominy and fry up some apples. I cheat on the apples. Just peel and slice, add a Tbs of Splenda and cinnamon to taste, cover bowl with Saran wrap and microwave for 2 minutes. This was actually our dinner tonight.

I have a dry rub recipe that I like to coat my pork roast with, then toss it in the crockpot on low for about 8 hours. Once it's falling apart tender, I shred it, add a few drops of liquid smoke, stir well, and serve on buns as pulled pork sandwiches.

Most of these are for the crockpot, but you could probably cook them on the stovetop or in the oven too. Chile verde. Pork chunks, onions, garlic, tomatoes, green chiles, jalapenos (optional), chicken stock, salt, pepper, oregano, cumin, and chili powder. Cook on low for 6-8 hours. I prefer to brown pork first but you don't have to. Great served over rice, over burritos with melted cheese, sour cream and guacamole (all optional), just as a stew in a bowl, or thicken it up and wrap it up in burritos with toppings of your choice. Barbecued pulled pork. Cook roast in crockpot (nothing added) on low for 6-8 hours. Drain, shred with a fork, add your favorite BBQ sauce and heat thoroughly. Serve as is with potato salad, coleslaw, baked beans, etc., or on buns as sandwiches. Bavarian pork and cabbage. Place chopped cabbage in bottom of crockpot, sprinkle with caraway seeds, lay tart apple slices on top and sprinkle with brown sugar and nutmeg. Add about an inch of water. Season roast with salt, pepper and rosemary that you crush between your palms and sit on top of cabbage. Cook on low for 6-8 hours. Fajitas. Cut roast into thin strips (easiest when it's half frozen), salt and pepper and saute it and some minced garlic in a little oil on high heat in a skillet until almost done, add strips of onions and bell peppers and saute for a couple of minutes. Add seasoning of your choice, 2t lime juice, 1/4 cup of water and 2t soy sauce (it doesn't make it taste Chinese, lol), then cook and stir until meat has absorbed sauce. Serve with tortillas for wrapping and toppings of your choice. For the fajita spices, I keep a canning jar mixed up in my cabinet. I use 2T chili powder, 1T cornstarch, 1t paprika, 1/2t oregano, 1/2t brown sugar, 1/2t beef bouillon granules (or can use chicken or vegetable), 1/4t cayenne pepper, and 1/4t cumin (t = teaspoon T = tablespoon). I use about 2-3T of the spice mix. I have lots more, but will stop there.

The only way we cook pork roast is in a pressure cooker with 2 cans of coke and 2 packages of onion soup mix. It's out of this world! You could do the same thing in a crockpot.
