We have had a very mild winter so far here in SE Ohio. The last few days have been in the 60's and it is supposed to stay that way the rest of the week. We have barely had any snow. Our firewood is really lasting this year. Since the weather has been so nice Cale already has enough wood cut for next year and even some for the year after that!

Wet and windy in Northern California. Went through a lot more wood than average. Looks to be continuing.

Wet, wet and wet. We had some cold weather in January, at least for us. A lot of people complained about their power bills when they were 8 days late reading the meters, this month was warmer and 8 days shorter, their bills were normal....James

Wet damp, not particularly cold not very windy, generaly meh. cold enough to kill my cabbages and sprouts in the garden, (still learning if anything will overwinter here, seems the answer so far is no) No snow to mention, I don't think we've had more than an inch at a time the whole winter.

From the other 'coast' of Ohio from Melissa, we are in SW Ohio and have seen a mild winter. We are also in the 60's for a week **in February! Our firewood has also lasted longer than expected. While it's been nice, I am a little concerned we'll be overrun by insects without a good hard freeze or two.

From 30 to high 70's 60- 70 for this week 50's for night. Weather changes frequently. I see no sign of buds anywhere but we are possibly to have winter return in March. I heard people mowing yesterday! I could use the scissors on my high spots if I wanted too but there is not enough to get the mower out!

Been milder than usual here,(central NJ) and most of the precip has been rain rather than snow (thank you!). We have had some below freezing days but usually not more than 2-4 days at a time. The bugs are out here too. Temps look to be way above normal until Sunday here, so I'll appreciate every minute while knowing that winter isn't over yet.
My youngest son asked why my hubby didn't shoot that blankety, blank groundhog so he couldn't see his shadow!

icy, more ice than normal. Really treacherous walking to and from the cabin to the garage. Almost lost it this morning on the way to the truck.
Today's warmth (46ºF) is about to get blown out of here ( up to 60 mph gusts) with rain turning to snow and single digit temps returning all week until Friday when we get more snow. We have "snow smoke", really snow fog.
The driveway goes from being slush to being an ice skating rink.
The lakes are all frozen of of course, but there is a layer of standing water on them today.
A few songbirds have returned and we are filling our seed feeders to try and help them through this rough cold patch but we will lose some of the weaker ones, no doubt.

Mild and dry in Southeast Missouri. Ponds are way down. Hope to have some sustained moisture over the next couple of months.

We're about out of highways here. There was a story today expressing excitement that the major highway inland was going to be open all day Sunday as opposed to a hour each morning and afternoon when the road crews are off. But that was followed by a story that the main highway north had lost another 10 feet to the ocean at Last Chance Grade. There was also a story about a car that went into the river two days ago but no emergency vehicles can get there because the road further west had a slide that only left enough roadway for small cars to get through.
The drought sort of banked the potential landslides for a few years but we're catching up now.

Cold blast before Christmas-single digits. Then warmer with ice. Then up & down thru January & February, mostly mild. Now raining 55 degrees but falling into 20s over the weekend. Monday March 13th is the anniversary of the Blizzard of '93 when Pittsburgh's one-day record snowfall buried the city in 23" of snow. That is more snow than the total this winter so far.

We're back to winter again after having 8 straight days in the upper 60s. For central Indiana in February, that was a bit freaky. I, personally, like a good snowy winter with some cold, but preferably, no ice. Anyway, none of that this year and we won't, as a result, be making our usual Maple Syrup.

We've been cold the last few days, but have really had a mild winter this year. We, too, are rich in woodpiles this year and for the next several years. That's a good thing.

Had a bitter cold weekend and a nor'easter on Tuesday. Got 10 inches of heavy, wet, icy snow that promptly froze Tuesday night. High winds all day Wed and Thurs. and temps still below freezing. Supposed to get above freezing tomorrow with another wintry mix on Saturday.
Spring can start anytime now .... PLEASE!
