We are in the middle of a noreaster. The governor has issued an emergency. We have blizzard conditions. Possibly over 25 inches of snow expected today. It was similar to this March 10-11, 1993 when our daughter was born. We made it home from the hospital just in time before the storm hit.
I feel bad for DH. He is sick but is outside snow blowing right now.
Please pray for all of those that have to be out on the road and for those that are working hard to keep our roads safe.

After all the build-up and media attention, woke this morning to bare ground. Weatherman says a wedge of dry air over our area kept the two storms apart and we got Nothing overnight. Just a dusting during the day. I felt disappointed but now realize we were fortunate. Others have real weather to deal with, it's not just a movie. Prayers for your DH, adirondackgal, and for all others out in the storm.

We were in the nor Easter path too. Only ended up to be 6" with lots of drifts. Today everything is solid ice! Yack tracks are staying on boots for awhile. How about you adirondackgal,...lots of snow I bet.

We got 40 inch's here. Almost couldn't make it home from work with over a foot of snow on the roads. There was a travel ban and seems they stopped plowing until after the snow let up. I think this one was worse than in 93.

With all the drifting, measuring the snow is a bit difficult. Closing in on 2 feet. It has snowed persistently since about 10PM Monday night. They predict it will stop around 4PM here, but even as it lightens up, the winds are picking up and shifting. I can't see the end of the second block right now. I've seen longer and worse here. This is a pretty snow, especially since I can choose to stay home.

will have to check that out...not familiar with that area. Thank God you got home, with a FOOT of snow on the roads. I am walking on top of all the snow, which is now all ice. Good to have yack tracks!!!! If I didn't I'd be home bound for a while.

Woodpecker , Southern Herkimer county, just read the official number recorded is 42 inches I guess we got the worst of it. West Winfield (Herkimer County) shows 42", but that was late-AM. Snow is still falling across the area. Another 3-ish has fallen here since I shoveled at noon. My neighbor is out for a third go, but I'm waiting. I'm not going anywhere today. Or tomorrow.

I think we got close to 2 feet. I am not able to shovel so DH and DS did all of the work. They had to go out again this morning and shovel and snow blow. I am so ready for spring, as are they!

We only got 10" but most of it was icy. My poor son was out plowing from before dawn on Tuesday morning till 1:30 am Wednesday morning. They couldn't even find a place to buy hot coffee as everything was closed. He was out there in an open tractor plowing for most of that time. Ah, to be 19 again and able to do anything!
Meanwhile, I shoveled and youngest son had 2 days off from school. Now were expecting another wintry mix all day Saturday. I hope it misses us!
