I took a bucket of stuff out to the compost piles, and next thing I knew, my hands were pulling weeds in the strawberry beds... Then, I commenced the pleasant task of liberating the lemon balm from its winter mulch.... Now there is a layer of spent hay all around the walking onion bed, the horseradish has also been set free, and I cleared out one of last year's sweet peper beds. Silly Pony! My fingernails were starting to grow out, and I actually entertained the notion of applying nail polish... HAHAHahahahahaha.....

Do your toes. My hands look like an old man's, but my feet spend most of their time in riding boots and don't get messed up too much. So when I do go out, I wear sandals with pretty polish. I'm a girly wannabe who is too practical to make the transition.

LOL! Good idea - as long as I let the polish dry before I put on my socks. What I usually do to feel more feminine working around here is I wear a girlie camisole under my grubby chore clothes.

LOL... Growing up it was a dreaded thing to pull weeds for dad... now I can't wait for the garden to dry up so I can get my hands in the dirt...

Yep, as a kid, I hated pulling weeds, but now end up doing it every time I walk past the garden. LOL I seldom paint my nails. The polish never lasts as long as it takes to put it on and I am too messy to do a good job anyway!

I have the same problem. Fingernail polish last a maximum of a few hours with this lifestyle. Maybe a day or two in the winter. But the toenail polish actually stays nice looking for a long time. I love it.
And what is it with weeding suddenly being more fun as an adult? As a child I thought it was torture and now I have a huge garden myself. Go figure. And now dd is starting to say "gardening is fun!" at age 16. lol She used to hate it.

The Egyptian Onions are so pretty......the others I planted have died from the cat laying in the container....waited for the asparagus to come up in the container....has been two years.....some very slender stalks popped up and we decided to leave them to get thicker...LOL....OH YEAH...went down to check on them and they were all eaten off.....either the chickens or the guineas had a feast on them....

I went to take the dog out and ended up taking the burlap off the blueberries, hanging them on the line to dry, and walking around the yard where it wasn't covered with snow. Found buds on the lilacs. Meanwhile, I had forgotten that I had gingerbread in the oven!!
