I've been meaning to get a table saw. Not the only thing I'd like to get, but have to wait a bit on. Still planning ahead..
Anyone recommend one that isn't too pricey?
I'm looking for one that'll accept dado blades.
Already asked the folks at Harbor Freight if theirs will, got replied back that it won't.

Don't skimp on the quality and whatever you buy will last nearly forever. Harbor Freight sells cheap Chinese junk for the most part. Check out some wood working forums for recommendations on best brands and possible deals on used saws.

About 6 months ago or so, I joined some 'buy sell trade' or 'buy sell and give away' closed groups on facebook. After being accepted, I set them to 'not follow' so I don't have to look at sale items all the time.
When I'm looking for something locally, I look there before craigs list. I've seen more than 10 table saws and more than 10 smaller saws. Give yourself a few months to get to know what they have available and you can always advertise exactly what you are ISO (in search of) and wait to have some offers.

If I were looking for one I would be on Craig's list. I have seen many craftsmen, which I think is a decent saw, for $100 and up.You could buy a few with what it takes to buy a quality new saw. Wade

What size blade are you looking for? The reason I ask is because I tend to buy older saws at auction for $25. Right now the 3 I have take standard 7 1/4 to 8 in blades made for hand held circular saws. One is a modeling saw made for cutting small light weight stuff (think doll house type of things), the other 2 are older Craftsman table saws. All of them run well and I use them occasionally. I rarely use my "antique" 10 inch Delta table saw unless I'm working on a lot of large pieces. The point being if you don't mind it taking longer to set up and to make changes, older saws at auction are a good option. I know I keep finding them and reselling them. In fact I'm getting rid of 2 of the 3 small table saws I have now..
Yes you can find dado blades for the 7 1/4 inch saws, but you may need to make a custom slot cover to accommodate the wider blade stance..
An added thought.. I have an old piece that holds the blade at an angle to cut the full width of the dado, using a single blade. I've never used it though and don't know how well it works..

If you are mechanically inclined you should check out local auctions. A friend of mine buys all of his tools as fixer uppers for dirt cheap this way.
