I responded with:
I no longer post on Homestead Today due to the ridiculous issues with your using posters' messages to churn interest in your other online sites. When your site admin refused to honor the promise your CEO made regarding deleting all of a poster's previous posts if they requested, I realized the company was headed by either a liar or someone with no understanding of social media. Neither of which inspired any confidence.
I do check in on rare occasions. When you get new owners who will document in writing that they won't steal the work of others to earn money for themselves, let me know.

That's a form letter the computer generates when a member hasn't posted for some set period of time.
I got one or two after I was banned, since that doesn't remove you from the list

I had registered there at the time of the controversy to ask the admin what the heck was going on.

I haven't gotten one either but it's probably because I check it every day. Of course, I only check the one board there, Real Estate. I never used that site for anything else.

I was banished for a period of nearly a year, for allegedly calling out another member, as a troll for his actions on a particular political thread.
Then that same person who banished me, was found out to have perpetuated FAR, FAR worst things in their dealings with other members on that forum.
Granted, she was eventually found out and stripped of her position; along with being publically flogged, but was STILL allowed to remain a member in good standing.
The double standard reeks....When (or rather, IF) she is ever also "banished" for an appropriate time period, then and ONLY THEN, would I even consider the possibility of going back.
However, they haven't asked me to come back either, ....so the point is moot.

Nope haven't gotten one yet, but then I changed the email addy in my personal info there so I effectively blocked myself, and just as well. I don't want to be tempted. Whatever I've left there, I can repost elsewhere - they have no rights to it. They're welcome to clean up the debris.

I have gotten two requests to come back.
At this point in time, I only have time for two boards... one is now this one, the other a miniature horse board. Mostly keep up with friends I made on HT, on FB.
Have no plans on going back to the old HT.

I got one a few weeks ago as well. I have popped in over there a few times, but never signed in. I really only want to check and see how many views I have gotten on the recipe board where I posted my recipes from old cookbooks. I don't really have the desire to post there anymore.

Didn't get it but I have different EMail did get several deals for discount Magazines and chance to put in for a Drawing on a Hunt. Figure I will go to our Cabin where I can have life easy Hunting and Fishing the way I want.

I'm not sure about Melissa, but politics tends to get a little out of hand. I like that we do not have to moderate much & I'm afraid a politics forum would be one forum that would not remain "nice" for very long.

I also never get invited anywhere. I figure anyone who requests my company, a half breed gypsy who loves to womanize, drink and get into a brawl now and then, deserves to have it. I think we will mostly stay away from politics. If there is an issue that is relevant to one of the forums here, then it can be discussed, but mostly those topics seems to disintegrate quickly and people end up fighting, upset, and no one really changes their minds. I see nothing really good coming out of most political forums...

Political forums tend to draw people who are so adamant about their views that they will post ANYTHING, just to garner attention. Many of these have no factual basis, whatsoever...none. I would feel differently, maybe, if there were real discussions about different view points, but rarely, if ever, do they happen. |

Exactly, now if there is some big legislative issue affecting cattle (for instance) and someone wants to talk about it in the cattle forum that is fine. If it is really relevant, then it is allowable. But I don't think we need endless debates about elections/politicians/headlines etc...
