Thanks for posting those links calicokatie1. I'm just tidying up my office/quilt room at the moment - it's been like a bombsite for the past 4-5 months while I've worked on a community project - in the end I couldn't even see my work areas, and my machine has been looking very forlorn and unloved. Can't wait to get everything back into shape so I can spend the holidays quilting to my heart's content. Next year is going to be a wonderfully domestic one for me, with minimal involvement in external commitments. I have a whole heap of quilts I need to make and/or finish, and a lot of gardening to catch up on.

I hear you! I did very little quilting in 2016 due to unexpected issues so I've set a challenge for myself in '17. I want to make a full size bed quilt for all my kids and a couple of grandkids. That's a total of 14. I'll try to get the rest of the grandkids in '18. That's another 12. Let's hope my hands hold up because I hand quilt.

Not doing that quilt, but thanks so much for the link - I had a great time looking through the 288 free quilt patterns.

The Marys River Quilt Guild has begun posting its BOM for 2017. It looks like most of the patterns for the year are already available. I loved the flower series they did last year and still have that one on my to do list. marysriverquiltguild.org/activities.htmlThe Fandom in Stitches site started a Fantastic Beasts BOM in October. I don't paper piece but I really admire all the work these quilters put into their movie theme quilts. If anyone wants to whip one of these up for me I would cheerfully accept it! www.fandominstitches.com/2016/10/fantastic-beasts-quilt-along-week-1.html

This Meadow Mist quilt mystery started a few months ago and will end this spring. It looks like it would be easy to catch up with the clues. Looks really interesting. A couple of past mysteries are still posted. meadowmistdesigns.blogspot.com/p/mystery-quilt.html

calicokatie1, that Meadow Mist quilt is really 'in your face', isn't it - but very striking.

This Ocean Waves quiltalong looks interesting. If you've avoided this pattern because the idea of all those HSTs gives you a mental nosebleed - that's me - this might be a good way to make one. She hasn't posted the day she will start this but it will be in January. I love the navy and white quilt she shows but it is also a great scrap buster. mamaspark.blogspot.com/2016/11/ocean-waves-quiltalong-qal.html

Hooray!! I've been checking the Merry Mayhem's website at least twice a day for the past week. The fabric requirements and cutting instructions have been posted so I can choose my fabric. I've made these the past two years and really enjoy them. Her mystery quilts are not too complicated and are nice patterns. If anyone else is interested in doing this or the Scrapquilts one, we could start a thread to talk about it on New Year's Day. It's nice to be able to ask questions of others if we hit a snag. www.merrymayhem.com/newyearsday.html

It sounds beautiful, dustawaits. Are you interested in making one? I have one in pieces that need to be assembled. It's from a mystery I did many years ago.

Is anyone going to try the 365 Quilt Challenge next year? I 'started' it this year. Sadly, I didn't keep up. But....I now have a good start on next year! LOL
Is anyone working on the En Provence Mystery at Quiltville?

Those are cheery colors! I'm thinking about doing mine in all neutrals. I did one in all neutrals a few years back and I just love it!

calicokatie1,@kiwifarmgal, farmchix, dustawaits, joanie, So, here's the question. Does anyone want to do any of the challenges as a sew along? We could start the 365 block challenge and if we can't keep up, we can turn it into a wallhanging. (That's what I am thinking about doing.) We can keep each other motivated.

For me, the block a day would be more than I could handle. A block of the month doesn't seem like enough but a block of the week would be just right. How does that sound to you? Barbara Brackman did one a couple of years back that would be perfect and all the patterns are still posted. One 12" pieced block each week for 36 weeks. We could start a separate thread and see how much interest there would be. I'm already deciding what fabric I'll use.
