Krisinmi,
I like this sweater a lot. Does it button up the front? What pattern are you using? Susan

ketoriverfarm, yes it does button up the front. The pattern is from last fall's issue of Taproot Magazine, but can also be purchased through Ravelry here

krisinmi: Okay, call me stupid! A barn sweater? I have to guess, judging from the size, that it's not for the horse. Very nice - great color!
BTW: My night blooming Jasmine is blooming!!! Daughter hates it! Says it smells like 'old lady perfume'. I just chuckle. Amazing plant. It won't smell til you turn out the lights - about 10 minutes later, the room is overpowered!

Cyndi, that's gonna be gorgeous! Nice work! A little every day like you said. Me too: Warp's ON! I wound 10 yards. I figured 8 place mats would be almost 8 yards, so I got some room to play with. It went on a lot smoother than I thought. Ol' Gus still has it in him! The tension box worked perfectly. The reed guided the threads perfectly. (You can pivot the reed to direct the bout if you need to.) You wind em on then tape the strip to keep the threads in place, then tape it to the bout and continue. Pretty quick once yer set up. Took about an hour. It's my first time too! Would probably take at least 2 with a warping board and regular beaming. I was gonna do blue/white all the way across, but it would have come out with a blue on one side and a white on the other. So I took the middle and did bunch of colors, then reversed the blue/white and balanced it out. I'm at 14 inches on the beam - they should come out about 12 inches wide. Hoping for 20" long each. Now to figure out what warp to use! I guess I can experiment a little too. Lesson learned: Sectional warping...don't be afraid of it.

I think they're going to look pretty cool!!
On the cardigan, I've knitted the ribbing for the neck/waist, bound off the neck, doubled the amount of stitches on the two 'front' pieces and have finished 1.5 repeats.

Cyndi, I'm not meant to go to any fiber fests! I swear it's fate. No Cedarville Fiber fest for me! I get in the car today to go to work....'check engine' ?? And it's running rough. Not sure what it is but I'm not making any long drives. I chugged to worka and I'll chug home but I gotta get to a mechanic. I HATE this! I swear it knows I wanted to drive this weekend!! UHGH! It's probably one of those $125 computer parts that are about a 1/4 inch long.

Still trying to figure out double moss stitch here. I think I am having trouble switching from K to P even though I bring the yarn to the front. Mabey I should just go to my LYS and see what I'm doing wrong. I had the same problem when I made a scarf with seed stitch over the winter.

I just started a hooded baby blanket for my youngest daughter's sister-in-law. I have a new grandchild due in September so will be making one for that baby too. I'm doing an off-white for this one and will be waiting to see what my daughter-in-law is having to decide on the color for that one. I just want a happy, healthy baby but I must admit I would like to knit something pink.

What yarn are you using @backtotheland? Knitting, crocheting or weaving the blanket? I have a granddaughter arriving the beginning of July!!! Woodpecker, it might be easiest for you to hit the yarn shop. I'm such a visual learner.

Woodpecker: "....I have the same Jasmine plant! It's not doing well, how do you take care of yours osiris?....."
Mine was doing poorly in the first few years. But my daughter discovered that it has spider mites. Nasty little things. You can't see them, but you can see their webs in the crotches of the branches. The leaves get real thin and almost opaque, then they fall off. Looks like it's gonna die. Treatment: I take it outside (right about now) and spray it with raid or a soap/water solution - if the latter, soak it down good. This winter I didn't have any problems. I leave it outside during the summer anyway so the weather takes care of them. But I spray it again before bringing it back inside for the winter. You can mist it with soap/water too during the winter. When she starts blooming, give her a 'little' (1 cup) water every day throughout the bloom. Check the bottom so she doesn't get wet feet. I also trim mine back every year in the fall. 7 years and still going. WP, if it's not a spider mite problem, then perhaps you need new soil. I use a 50/50 peat moss-potting soil mix. SO far so good.

Thanks @osiris! I don't think it's spider mites, maybe it needs a good pruning. How and when do you prune yours? I've had rhis plant about 6 years and have never pruned it. It could be the soil too. Sorry Muller's Lane Farm for the thread drift. ETA: I finally tagged you Muller's Lane Farm!

WP, It can't hurt to give it some new dirt! I prune it back in the fall after the bloom. Actually, I think you can prune it any time after it blooms - mine blooms a couple times a year. It'll just recoup and put out new leaves. It love the outdoors tho. Mine turns into a different plant in summer! I'd really like to stick the thing in the ground, but I don't think it'd make the winter- even if I covered it. I had to fix my van. It needed a part: egr valve...something to do with afterburning the exhaust. stupid little thing costs $70. But at least it's back to normal. Now the goofy dashboard says "gascap"! . I tightened it and it went away. Just bought that darn cap 6 months ago. Fibery, I'm just pluggin along on the WD loom. I got the warp on, got it threaded and now i'm sleying. I didn't use a cross but the tape held the warp threads in line perfectly. Just pull them off in the order they lay for threading. Works pretty well. I was leary at first, but it's really pretty fool proof. And I'm just the fool that could prove it wrong! Anxious to see wait this thing does. This is all new territory for me. NOTE: I'm using a trick I got from Jenny Bellairs. Instead of the straight 1234 threading, the first 4 are threaded 3-3 and 4-4. The last four are threaded 1-1 and 2-2. This give a double selvedge on the last two. Makes for a stronger edge. Jenny is a wealth of info. Her site was one of the first places I'd seen anything about a WD loom in use. She restored one and did a whole series on the process. Check her out. jennybellairs.blogspot.com/2012/08/having-fun-with-weavers-delight-loom.htmlAttachments:

krisinmi .... any updated photos of the barn sweater?? MLF, I got to do a ton of knitting on it this past weekend (was at a competition of DS2's--that is, my second son, who is 22yo, not a son that is 2yo lest anyone read my 'shorthand' wrong, lol-- so there was travel time and lots of sitting & waiting time which I put to good use). Here's two photos. First is last week Wednesday. Second is how much I have done as of last night--at least, as much as you can see around the Yarn Thief who photo bombed. Sweater is upside down, in 2nd pic compared to first; collar at bottom in 2nd. I am loving how simple and fast this sweater is to knit. Attachments:

It's Knit Picks Wool of the Andes worsted, but I think the color is probably the same. Forest heather, or something like that. Beautiful shawl, btw, what pattern is it? Here's the very next pic I took, in which the Yarn Thief is very much enjoying my sweater. Attachments:

Thanks @osiris I think I will give it some new dirt before it goes on the porch for the summer. I will try to wait until fall to prune it. I was wondering if it needs a new pot but I don'tthink it's root bound. I'll do both while I'm at it since it can't hurt.

Yeah WP, it'll probably perk right up with new dirt and outside!. Don't go too big on the pot tho. Just next size or a little bigger. If the roots gotta spread too much it'll take time to adjust and you won't see much growth. But give it a good soap/water bath when it goes out. That can never hurt either. WOOHOO! My first homemade heddle! I used a thick linen. Hopefully not to abrasive on the warp. Not too happy about the threading error tho. Just glad I caught it now while I'm sleying. I actually ordered some repair heddles too. It's coming along. Attachments:
