Callie, those are beautiful!! WIHH, if you can find a linen/silk blend fingering weight, let me know! The Pierott Soft Silk Ramie (70% ramie/ 30% silk) is the closest I can find ... and I have to order that from Japan!!! I used approx 300 grams (6 balls of 50 grams) for the size (L)

I'm on to placemat #2. It's okay, I guess. I like the colors. First one was in light blue. The double warp plain weave hem doesn't weave too well. I need a thicker yarn for it. You can see it on the left side at the edges. I think the double selvedges have something to do with it too. But so far I'm getting the hang of it. The joins are working out very well. No bumps at all. This is that fuzzy, stretchy faux blanket material. It stretches well so the draw in isn't much. Weaves very fast. About 5 picks to an inch. I think rugs would be fun. Attachments:

Callie, I've had your cowls like a screen saver all morning - love the fretwork slip stitch one, your colors make it nicer than any piece I've ever seen with that pattern. I nearly went Mad with an error in Walker's book I was too inexperienced to see and I was convinced it was my mistake. Did you ever see that?
And that bias in the round - impressive!

I loved making all of them. I got the patterns off Ravelry - some I paid for some were free. So I didn't see Walker's book. I have a few more planned. My neighbor has an ebay store and wants me to knit some thing for her there. Now that it's spring....I thought I'd try a few. There's also a fiber arts store near that sells handmade items produced only in Michigan by Michiganders. Maybe I place some there...or some of the tons of yarns I've spun. Next on the needles is a cowl with the bias in the round. Chevrons seem to be popular these days too.

Workin on a real rag rug placemat. Coming out pretty nice. Just a cotton material from an old light blanket. I like what it does in the warp! I think I'm getting the hang of this. I could do rugs!

Update: OOPS!!! Well...I'm approaching the end of the warp a little early. This is one of the drawbacks of sectional warping. You HAVE to keep track of how many turns when you're winding the warp on. Each section has to be the same number of turns. Apparently I mis-counted. Glad I was able to demonstrate what NOT to do!! I'm sure I'm not the first to have done it. LOL It's gonna be fun to pull these all off the loom ans see what I actually made. I'm itchin' to warp it up again and keep goin! I was just getting used to it! Attachments:
