shellymay, I sure did! Thank you for donating to our 'cause' even though you weren't able to join in the sewing this time around. How is lambing going? motdaugrnds, mzgarden, dw, I received your blocks in yesterday's mail. They are wonderful and look so good sitting next to each other. motdaugrnds, I'm impressed by your hand sewing. From the front, I can't even tell. If this is your first ever quilt square, I can't wait to see what you make in the future! mzgarden, you too have quilting talent. Beautiful block. dw, we must think alike. I used same color combination (different pattern) in my block. Thanks, too for the surprise goodies, I love them.

I received mine last week, it is beautiful. I'm not sure what I'm going to do yet, but can't touch it for the next two weeks since my mom fell and broker her kneecap and between my daughters competitions and taking care of my parents, won't be home much the next two weeks.

No progress for me. I keep forgetting to put the fabric in the washing machine when doing laundry!! Maybe this week I will remember.

motdaugrnds, since Hancock fabrics is closing, maybe you can find some of the supplies you are wanting there at a good price if there a store near you.
I FINALLY looked through my stash, found a ton of new fabric that is absolutely useless to me but came in a box or two of fabic I bought a few years ago. It's all western themed, horses, riders, Indians, etc. That won't do. Ok, so found ONE fabric I can use and going to do a simple block today after my goat kids and get it in the mail tomorrow, assuming my machine doesn't do something weird! I'm impressed that so many of you have your blocks done already!!

@kiwifarmgal, your block has arrived! Very nice work. Wish I could match my points that well. And thank you for the two FQs you threw in; I'm so excited to have 'international' fabric in my stash now.

Melissa , your blocks are here. The Mary Engelbreit fabric is so cute, what a great idea to pair it with our forum fabric! (And thanks for the packet of seeds; I love cosmos.)

My blocks were pretty awful, so hopefully the fabric makes up for it!

jangirl , your block is here Looks like you and I had similar ideas. And sounds like it is going to go well with Homesteader 's block too, but not in the same way that your block and mine are alike. (Gee this is so fun getting to see all the blocks first hand and commenting on them. Bet I'm driving everyone crazy with anticipation for the pictures at the end of this quilt. )

I went shopping for fabrics to make my block...I only needed one other color, but I found about 5-6 that I really liked and couldn't decide between, so I bought them all! This is how is starts, isn't it... Now to figure out the cutting directions and get with the program. I'm getting nervous, hearing how many of you have already sent yours in, when I haven't made my first cut yet.

Tallpines, your block is here. Really like the pattern you used; I'm too chicken to try that one.

I ran into a time crunch this month so I've just now started my block. All the pieces are cut out and I'm handpiecing it. I should have it finished over the weekend and in the mail early next week. Have you ever noticed that when you're going to sit back and do some of the things you enjoy, something always seems to come up?

calicokatie1, I can definitely relate. I've been kind of in a spin the last week and a half over a few things; mostly good things, but still, it's kept me from getting done all the 'fun' things I had planned. . . like sewing some summer jammies for my granddaughter who is having a birthday at the end of this month. I'm starting to think I'll be lucky to get 1 pair of jammies made for her rather than the three pair I bought fabric for.

I noticed in the instructions it said to mail by May 10th, but for those newbies, it really means mail so that the block arrives to Kris by the 10th! I wish I'd noticed the direction of the print before I cut my fabric, but then I wouldn't have been able to do that block, as it wasn't wide enough to do the 12.5 inches. What will be, will be!

jangirl, thank you for clarifying for me - I did think I had to put it in the mail by the 10th of May. I certainly hope to be done with it much sooner than that, but it's all still a bit daunting. I'm doing a practice block before I cut into the "real" fabric. As a very, very newbie, I think I need that.

manygoatsnmore, I also made several 'practice' blocks before I felt brave enough to make even 1 cut in the quilt fabric. I learned alot from my mistakes.

mzgarden, it's nice to hear that I'm not the only one who feels the need for practice. I chose a fairly simple block, only squares and triangles, but matching corners and that 1/4" seam allowance are going to be challenges - my seam allowances tend to wander, lol. If it's a problem for me with a regular seam allowance, I can imagine it's going to be an even bigger challenge with such a narrow seam. I finally have a day at home, so I think this is the day I practice - wish me luck! pauline, your weekend field trip sounds like so much fun! My weekend (at least Saturday anyway) will be spent helping clean up flood damage at the local fairgrounds - fun, fun. I doubt I'll dig up any dino bones in the process, lol. I am hoping to make a trip to the fossil beds in Eastern Oregon again this summer - I've always been fascinated by fossils.
